HAORAN ZHU

UChicago Chapter Co-President

Haoran is a junior and an economics major at the University of Chicago. From Beijing, he came to the U.S. for an education when he was thirteen by himself. He excelled at Sandy Spring Friends School, where he was not only rewarded by the State of Maryland for academic achievement, but was also recognized through the Congressional Award for community service. Haoran founded an organization managing a portion of his high school endowment and spoke as commencement speaker on behalf of the Class of 2018 at Sandy Spring Friends. He also attended Emory University where he held leadership position at the Goizueta Investment Management Group and served on the executive board of Emory Economics Student Society.

DENNIS LU

UChicago Chapter Co-President

Dennis is a sophomore at the University of Chicago, where he majors in economics with a minor in physics. He is interested in the intersection between technology and healthcare resource allocation and has developed a software for AI-based clinical diagnosis based on user input to make healthcare services more accessible to underserved populations. At the same time, having spent time on the CERN ATLAS experiment, he is passionate about high energy physics. In his free time, he is an avid fan of both Formula 1 racing and Arsenal. He is very excited to see P2TP engaging with such a wider audience group with necessary and insightful conversations.

ISABELLA WU

UChicago Chapter Vice President

Isabella Wu is a sophomore at the University of Chicago. She is currently planning to major in Economics and Global Studies, as well as minor i Isabella Wu is a first year student at the University of Chicago. She is currently planning to major in Economics and Global Studies, as well as minor in Neuroscience. Isabella has founded two non-profit organizations to improve public school education and support underfunded women’s support services. In the summer of 2020, Isabella interned as executive assistant for a startup pharmaceutical company and volunteered as an online English teacher for students affected by COVID-19 in Wuhan, China. In her free time, Isabella likes to sing, explore and city, and bake. A fun fact about her is that she was once bitten by a dolphin.

ALBERT SUN

UChicago Chapter Treasurer

Albert Sun is a junior studying Mathematics, Physics and Economics at the University of Chicago.

CALEB WEIS

UChicago Ambassador

Caleb is a senior and Economics and Mathematics major at the University of Chicago. He joined P2TP because he thinks that spreading knowledgeable people’s views is a powerful way to improve society. On campus, he is involved with Maroon Tutor Match, the Environmental Research Group, Peer Mentoring, the UChicago Behavioral Economics Association, and Career Advancement. In his free time, he loves to play sports, such as tennis and soccer.

ISRAEL OLIVER PIERRE

UChicago Ambassador

Israel Pierre is a sophomore at the University of Chicago who plans to double major in economics and political science. In high school, he was captain of the speech and debate team and president of student council. When he finds time for leisure, he likes watching Netflix, discussing Star Wars, or looking into obscure video game lore. He is excited to be working with panel to the people to increase awareness and build dialogue around a variety of important issues and interesting topics.

JOSEPH CHASNOFF

UChicago Ambassador

Joseph is a first-generation college student from Charlotte, NC studying Political Science and Russian Studies at the University of Chicago. He hopes to pursue a Masters degree in Public Policy following his undergraduate education.

MILES GARDNER

UChicago Ambassador

Miles is a student athlete at the University of Chicago. Miles is from Asheville, North Carolina. Some of his academic interests include economics, Romance languages, and physics. He plans on studying economics in college, and spent his previous summer interning for an asset management firm where he learned applicable skills within the bond market. In his free time he snowboards, listens to hip-hop, and watches sports.
